Asmita Maitra is an undergraduate student at St. Xavier's College, Autonomous, Kolkata, pursuing B.A Political Science, Semester 4. Having a strong foundation in research, communication and analytical skills, she wishes to learn about the social, political and cultural determinants in Asian countries and the changing dynamics with how it affects their elections.

BIMRISHA LEKHARU

BimrishaLekharu is a first year undergraduate student of Political Science at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Her research interests include international relations, environmental politics as well as gender and media studies with a regional orientation towards South Asia. She has published a co-authored article in “Politique”, the departmental journal of the Postgraduate and Research Department of Political Science.In addition to her academic interests, she also enjoys experimenting with regional and international cuisines, often exploring the intermix of food and culture through cooking. Bimrisha is deeply passionate about the rich cultural and culinary heritage of Northeast India, and often explores traditional Assamese cuisine as a way of conserving and sharing her regional identity. She is also an aviation enthusiast and spends her leisure time looking through Flightradar24, while discovering new places on the world map. Her unique mix of academic rigor and personal curiosity fuels a holistic approach to understanding how politics and everyday systems shape our understanding of the world.

FAWAZ AHMED KHAN

Fawaz Ahmed Khan is an undergraduate student of Political Science at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, with a deep-seated passion for politics and critical inquiry. His intellectual interests lie in examining contemporary political developments, socio-historical foundations of modern systems, and the global mechanisms shaping today’s geopolitical landscape.To Fawaz, politics is not merely an academic discipline—it is a complex and dynamic field that profoundly influences individuals, communities, and institutions. He is particularly keen to investigate the intersections of power, authority, policy, governance schemes, and international affairs, viewing them through cultural, structural, economic, and ethical lenses.Beyond academics, Fawaz actively participates in art, sports, drama, and public speaking, which enable him to communicate his ideas with clarity, conviction, and nuance.As a cadet in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), he upholds high standards of discipline, teamwork, and leadership. In addition to his major, Fawaz is pursuing Sociology as a minor, equipping him with a critical understanding of pressing social and humanitarian issues. He is especially interested in their implications for global and regional politics, particularly within the Asian context.
