DEBANGI SANYAL
Debangi Sanyal is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sociology at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. Debangi is primarily fascinated by the complex interplay of crime and restorative practices. She is deeply interested in global affairs, particularly exploring diverse areas such as international relations, global governance, economic diplomacy, and the role of transnational organizations in addressing pressing global challenges.Beyond academics, Debangi is a trained Bharatanrithyam dancer and likes to explore how performance influences social dynamics and cultural expressions, currently serving as an MA JU-SYLFF fellow.
Nayantara Sengupta
Nayantara Sengupta is an undergraduate Economics student at Ashoka University where she combines her interdisciplinary interest for humanities with her knack for economics and mathematics. She has been an intern at the Young Scholars’ Internship Programme organized by the Centre for International Relations and Development (December 2020). She has trained in violin from a young age and has been a part of the Kolkata Youth Ensemble, which is a community-based orchestra of young violinists in Kolkata who wish to make classical western music accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience. Nayantara also has a flair for art and design, and loves spending her free time with different forms of music, film, art and photography. She has been part of her family’s effort to contribute towards creating a better environment for children of household maids through an organization called Karma Kutir. At AGA she has also supported the organization’s media outreach programme
UDITA GHATAK
Udita is a BA Sociology student in Presidency University. She plans to use her bilingual communicativeskills to establish effective working relationships by engaging with Asian Studies researchand Global studies. Her research interests lie in Gender and Sexuality, Post Colonial Theories and Art.
BORUS THONGAM
Borus is from Manipur, currently pursuing an M.A. in Political Science at Punjabi University, Punjab. He completed His graduation in the same subject from Dhanamanjuri University. He is interested in the study of Displacement and Migration, Conflict and Identities, Governance and Nature of the State(especially in the Indian context), Linkages and development etc. My dream is to educate every youth in my country with my best effort and make sure their interest in education for a better future for the country.
